She lives with her parents, Migya Marma and Ma Ching Nuei Marma, both of whom work as farmers. Life in the hills is not easy, but the family shares a deep connection to their land and traditions. Hla Thui is especially close to her mother, who is also her guardian, and learns resilience and kindness by watching her parents work hard every day.
