Position Summary

The Associate will support the Youth Development Program (YDP) in strengthening engagement with schools and facilitating youth leadership development initiatives under the JAAGO Future Leaders Network. The role will focus on building partnerships with schools, onboarding new schools, facilitating monthly SDG-focused training sessions, and documenting and showcasing school activities through newsletters and other written content.

The JAAGO Future Leaders Network, established in 2025, is a youth-focused initiative under the Youth Development Program of JAAGO Foundation. The network works with school students across Bangladesh to develop leadership skills from an early stage and connect their activities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The position requires a personable and outgoing individual with strong English communication, writing, presentation, and partnership-pitching skills. The Associate will work independently within the YDP team while coordinating closely with the assigned supervisor and relevant stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

1. School Partnership & Onboarding

  • Identify and engage with schools for potential collaboration under the JAAGO Future LeadersNetwork.
  • Pitch the program and build partnerships with schools in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process of new schools.
  • Conduct regular field visits for school onboarding and partnership development, approximately 2 days per week.
  • Maintain positive relationships with school authorities, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders.

2. SDG Training & Facilitation

  • Conduct monthly SDG- focused training sessions for students in partner schools.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training sessions of approximately 1-1.5 hours.
  • Facilitate sessions primarily for students of Classes 7-8, while being able to adapt the content for students from Classes 5-10.
  • Coordinate with schools to schedule and conduct monthly sessions.
  • Share the monthly SDG theme with schools approximately 15-20 days in advance.
  • Ensure training content is reusable and adaptable across different schools.

3. Writing, Newsletter & Documentation

  • Prepare newsletters and written content highlighting activities and achievements of the JAAGO Future Leaders Network.
  • Document school activities, student engagement, training sessions, and success stories.
  • Support the development of blogs, reports, and other communication materials related to youth and school activities.
  • Collect relevant stories, photographs, and activity updates from partner schools.

4. School Club & Student Activities

  • Support and facilitate activities of JAAGO Future Leaders clubs within partner schools.
  • Encourage students to actively participate in leadership, SDG, and youth-focused activities.
  • Coordinate with school representatives to ensure regular club activities.
  • Support students in planning and implementing relevant initiatives.

5. Partnership Development & Coordination

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with schools and relevant stakeholders.
  • Present the JAAGO Future Leaders Network in a clear and compelling manner to potential partner schools.
  • Coordinate with internal YDP team members to ensure smooth implementation of school- based activities.
  • Represent JAAGO Foundation professionally during school visits, meetings, and events.

6. Reporting & Team Coordination

  • Maintain regular updates on school onboarding, training sessions, partnerships, and club activities.
  • Prepare necessary reports and updates for the supervisor and YDP management.
  • Participate in relevant team meetings, planning sessions, and capacity- building activities.
  • Support other youth development activities assigned by the supervisor, while maintaining the core focus of the Associate position.

7.Safeguarding, Gender, and Inclusion

  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding and gender principles.
  • Promote safe participation of women and vulnerable groups.
  • Report safeguarding concerns as per policy.

Qualifications & Experience 

Education

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree from a reputed university in any relevant field. Candidates with an English- medium educational background will be preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 1- 2 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in partnership development, school engagement, training facilitation, youth programs, communication, or community- based initiatives will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong presentation, pitching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
  • Personable, confident, and comfortable communicating with school authorities, teachers, and students.
  • Strong facilitation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to conduct engaging training sessions for school students.
  • Good understanding or interest in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a team.
  • Willingness to undertake regular field visits and work directly with schools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple school activities and timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to adapt training and communication approaches for different age groups and school contexts.
